Our Mission
Together, we serve as advocates for supporting all students as unique individuals, preparing them for a successful transition to high school and in becoming self-directed contributors of society.

Counselors at Drake help students across social/emotional, academic, and career domains. Students can request an appointment with us by filling out a counselor request form in front of the grade-level counselor's office. Parents, please note that e-mail is the preferred method of communication!

Need a schedule change? If so, please use this form to submit a request. Please remember, the only reason we will make a schedule change is due to wrong level class or duplicate class.

Would you like to request to meet with one of us?
If so, please stop by our offices and leave a note or send us an email!

Hello, Drake Middle School. My name is Dawn Barbour, and I will be interning with Rebecca Ewald and the counseling department this spring, starting January 19th. I am in my final semester at Adams State University receiving my MA in school counseling. I’m excited to be at Drake and to work with your amazing students and staff. I grew up in Morrison, CO and attended Jeffo schools throughout my entire K-12 experience. Additionally, I co-founded a non-profit in Haiti to help youth transition out of the orphanage system which was the catalyst for me wanting to work with youth in the public school system. I look forward to being a Drake Dragon!
