GUEST SPEAKER
In language arts class, students have been studying differing points of view in both fiction and nonfiction texts related to the Holocaust. On February 9th, we were very fortunate to have a Holocaust survivor, Estelle Nadel, presenting at Drake. She shared her experience of hiding in an attic for over two years and escaping the Gestapo during the Holocaust. Afterward, she answered student questionsabout her experience. Estelle's presentation was deeply moving and left a strong impact on students. Estelle kindly donated her time to speak to our students. To show our gratitude and appreciation for her time and story, Drake students raised over $1,000 to donate to The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in her name.
