Art Club 

Help fill Drake with Art! Ceiling tiles, bathroom stalls, chairs, and more! No surface will go untouched! No fee, but there is limited space. ACT FAST! DAY: Tuesday (Sept 3- Dec 17) the Art Room 2:30-4:00 (Tue/Thur starting Jan 14-April 28 Stagecraft Club 2:30-4:00)

Build Club

This club will bring out the innovator in you. It focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. You will have a choice of ideas, projects and/or services that will give you opportunities to think outside the box. Are you interested in  3-D printing, cardboard furniture, coding, drafting, or just being inventive? This is the club for you! More importantly, it is a chance to be around like-minded people. See Ms. Nelson for a permission slip and come on Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 to room 148.


Allies is a club committed to improving the climate of Drake Middle School.  Through education and advocacy, we hope to make Drake Middle School a safe place for all students regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, sex, or disability.  We are students working to support each other  and  combat bullying and harassment in our school.  Thursdays ( Sept 5-May 7).  Ms. Wolfs 2:30-3:15

Drama Club

"To be or not to be... that is the question!" Shakespeare Snippets combines modern music and dance, along with famous Shakespeare scenes, and brings Shakespeare to life. Figuratively. Students meet new friends as they explore scenes and monologues after school on Thursdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays they learn modern stomp dances with a professional dance instructor to favorite songs students have chosen that they feel matches their scene. A stagecraft professor comes in November to teach stage slaps and throws. She then helps them choreograph sword fighting techniques for the famous fight scenes. Come one, come all to Drake in December for a show guaranteed to wow your socks off to the fun of the famous Bard!

Jazz Band Club

Open to current band students in 7th and 8th Grades.  We meet after school Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 pm We will open jazz band to 6th graders after Winter Break.

VEX IQ Robotics Club

We are a competitive team which will be designing, building, and programming robots. In January and February, we will be competing in local competitions. This club is open to 7th and 8th graders no prior experience is necessary.  See Mrs. Jones in room 182 for more information. Day:  Wednesday Time 2:30-3:30


Theater -Musical - Spring

Singing, dancing, and acting.. The Spring Musical has it all!  Supported by the the tech, art, vocal, music, and drama department; it is a big, splashy theater extravaganza you'll want to be a part of!
