6th Grade ‘23-24 Transition Information:

Drake counselors and administrators will be visiting our feeder schools in February to meet with students and talk about the transition to Drake. Students will also be given copies of our 6th grade course guide, transition brochure, and our band and orchestra sign up sheet.
To be placed in an advanced math class, we require a math placement test to show students have the foundational knowledge to be successful. If you believe your student should be in an advanced math class, please complete this application. Our math department will review the applications and reach out to families of students that meet the requirements to take a math placement exam.

Choice Enrollment Students:

Welcome to Drake! We are excited to have you join our community. We wanted to share some information about next steps as your student gets ready to become a Drake Dragon!

Please refer to this brochure for more information about our upcoming transition events and support.

Here is a copy of our 6th grade course guide, which outlines how 6th grade classes will be structured. All 6th grade students will have four core classes, and can choose to sign up for band or orchestra as an elective class. Band and orchestra are both yearlong classes and are the only elective options available to 6th grade students; all explore classes are randomly assigned. If your student would like to sign up for band or orchestra, please complete this form.
