Visual Arts
Visual Art Class at Drake Middle School allows students to explore a variety of materials and learn about art from around the world, across time, and in their community. Art class helps students access their creativity through planning techniques, experimentation, and discovery. Students will find ways to mine their personalities to access what they care about and use that to express things in new ways
Visual Arts Courses
Visual Arts: Level 1, 2 and 3
Art 1, 2, and 3 correlate to students' grade levels, building on the development of their fine motor skills, abstract thinking ability, and self-discovery. Each year, students will be given opportunities to explore different art techniques and tools. The art studio offers experiences with drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, and much more. Using these materials, students learn the concepts and vocabulary of art that they can apply in ways that fit their personal development.
