English Language Arts
Drake Middle School’s ELA department focuses on the development of student's reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. The curriculum is designed to increase their literacy abilities, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Literacy
Students at each grade level read a book each trimester. To foster an interest and love for reading, students are always provided the freedom of choice when picking reading material. Sometimes the choice will be any book or a book within a specific genre or topic.
