Meet the Principal

Jill Kline
Dear Drake Students and Families,
Welcome to the new school year! As I begin my third year as your Principal, I am filled with excitement and gratitude. It feels like just yesterday I was introducing myself, and now, having spent two full years as part of the Drake community, I am more energized than ever to continue the great work we've started together.
For those of you who are new, my name is Jill Kline, and my journey in education began after graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1997. After starting as a social studies teacher in 2000, I found my true passion working with students who faced learning challenges, which led me to special education. I spent a decade teaching special education at Ralston Valley High School before becoming a Dean of Students and then an Assistant Principal. My family—my husband, John, and our children Riley, Karsyn, and Carter—have also been a part of the Arvada community for many years, with our kids attending West Woods, Drake, and Ralston Valley. Being a Drake parent myself has given me a unique perspective, and I've loved seeing our school from both sides.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the chance to truly get to know our school. I've met with countless students, teachers, and parents, and I've been so impressed by the passion and dedication I've seen. We’ve worked hard to continue fostering a culture of instructional excellence, and I'm proud of the meaningful learning opportunities we've created. Our focus remains on supporting every student in achieving academic success, exploring diverse opportunities, and ensuring that our school is a safe and welcoming place where everyone feels they belong.
I look forward to another successful year with all of you. My door is always open, and I value your continued input and support.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kline
